Hand held Terminals(HHT) from LAMPEX are increasingly finding use in various day-to-day applications like Spot Bill Generation, Money Collection, etc. These are rugged and versatile instruments, which can be programmed for specific needs. These instruments are light in weight, portable and have non-volatile memory for storing data, a built-in printer for generating print outs, USB/RS232 link to get connected to a host computer for data transfer and GPRS for connecting to any remote server. The HHTs work on re-chargeable batteries and can work for many hours for one full charge. Specially developed and tailored programs (in high level languages, such as ‘C’) can be loaded in to these instruments and the program or data can be changed very easily, thus making them ideally suited for wide variety of applications.
These instruments are designed around very advanced micro-controllers, which have high MIPS throughput, draw very low power from batteries, can be put into power down mode, interface non-volatile memories etc.
